(last updated 14th October 2013)

Sunday morning brought us our main Parish Harvest Thanksgiving when the preacher was the former Dean of Clogher, the Very Rev. Raymond Thompson. The service on Sunday evening was a  Community Harvest Thanksgiving when everyone from across the town was invited to join in the familiar hymns and prayers of thanksgiving. The preacher at this service was Rev. Dr Johnston McMaster of the Methodist Church.

The choir presented special lively pieces to the enjoyment of sizeable congregations appropriate for this season at all three services.

There now follows a selection of photographs as a permanent record of the weekend. The Harvest 2011 page can still be seen by clicking HERE and the Harvest 2012 page by clicking HERE.
          HARVEST SERVICES 2013
Our Thanksgiving for Harvest took place this year over the weekend of 11th-13th October. On Friday night  we had a special Youth Harvest service where the guest speaker was The Venerable Ian Linton who five years or so before left St. Macartin's as a curate and returned as an Archdeacon! His theme was "Water" in which he talked about the importance of water in all our lives and then progressing to speak about how Jesus said, "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink." These words are found in the Gospel of St. John (7:37) and at the conclusion Ian had distributed bottles of water, each bearing a label with that text.
